Disney XD and DStv held their screening of the reboot of the infamous 80s hit, Ducktales and the new series Big Hero 6 of the movie fame of the same name.
Eager guests brought along their children. I was excited to see the rebooted Ducktales as it was a favourite of mine growing up. Having been a fan of the movie, Big Hero 6 I was keen to see the series adaptation.
I won’t lie I couldn’t resist singing the intro song to Ducktales the whole time of the screening. It was a sweet moment for parents to share their love of the show with their children. My little one Adriana was amazed because it was her first time at a cinema. “Wow mommy wow!” she exclaimed as we took our seats.
Her eyes were fixated on the screen. She loved every minute until she realised that mommy scoffed down all the popcorn. At least she was soon distracted by the screen.
Ducktales has been reworked with a modern twist. The graphics’ colours are reminiscent of pop art’s dotted patterns. A reworked production to appeal to newer audiences. It continues with Donald Duck and his nephews Huey, Louie and Dewey along with a new friend Webby. The triplets reignite Scrooge McDuck’s sense of adventure. With new and older fans, I’m certain that Ducktales will soon be a firm favourite.
The new animated comedy adventure DuckTales will premiere in a one-hour television movie on, Saturday 14th April at 08:35.
The series launches with two back-to-back episodes every day from Monday 23rd to Thursday 26th April at 16:00 on Disney XD, DStv Channel 304.
