The Walt Disney Company had their annual content showcase to present the upcoming shows, movies, merchandise release for 2016/17.
It’s incredible how the Disney brand continues to grows its reach globally and locally in South Africa as well as across the African continent.
Under its stable it includes ABC Studios which houses Quantico, Grey’s Anatomy, The Fixer, How to Get Away With Murder and more that has all been renewed for a new season.
The film slate for 2016/17 includes Queen Katwe; Doctor Strange; Moana; Star Wars Rogue One; Beauty and the Beast; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Lies.
I’m looking forward to the December holidays for the release of Moana.
With Dwayne Johnson voicing Maui and introducing Auli’i Carvalho as Moana, it is aesthetically beautiful and is sure to be a hit. I can’t wait!
Anyway my mother explained to me what happened to the Beast. After all this time, it’s still one of my favourite movies, so imagine my delight that Disney was doing an live-action rendition of my favourite movie.
Beauty and the Beast is set for March 2017 and I get goosebumps just watching the trailer.
Hopefully a new generation will fall in love with the tale.
This year it was the much anticipated sequel to Finding Nemo, Finding Dory that had fans abuzz. It was a hit in South Africa and across the globe. How can you not fall in love with Dory?
Disney has new shows coming to their channels. Can you believe that the Disney Channel turned 10 years old in South Africa? There are new seasons of firms favourites on Disney Junior, Disney Channel and Disney XD as well as new shows coming soon to our TV screens. This includes, Elena of Avalor; Future-Worm; Counterfeit Cat; Stuck in the Middle and Tangled series
The Disney brand continues to grow on the African continent. As much as I love Disney, my only request is, “Please open a Disney store in South Africa. Thank you in advance”.
