Sandton City was abuzz as I made my way to the red carpet leading to the much anticipated H&M store. There were more than 1000 fashionistas, celebrities and members of the media gathered for the VIP party of H&M’s first Gauteng store.
After having my picture taken with my co-host and friend Jason Von Berg we meandered into the spectacular 2700 square meters of fabulous fashion.
The space is incredible, it does not disappoint and is on par with its international counterparts.
The highlight of the evening was the reveal of the exclusive HM x Balmaination Collection that launches globally on Thursday 5 November.
Before I could even say “Balmaination” the rails were empty! A lucky few managed to get their manicured hands onto the Balmaination Collection.
Not to worry there will be stock available for the official store launch on Saturday 7 November.
The evening sparkled with glitz and glamour as Joburg’s fashion scene rubbed shoulders with top celebrities and international and local movers and shakers.
Spotted in the crowd were Bonang Matheba, Somizi Mhlongo, Da Les, Nomuzi Mabena, Lee-Anne Liebenberg,
Loyiso and Jen Bala, as well as top stylists, bloggers and models.
Adding to the excitement of the evening was a rocking set by 3 South Africa’s of top DJ acts: DJ Zinhle, LCNVL and award-winning DJ Black Coffee.
They all hit the decks and wowed the crowd with high-energy tracks that spun late into the evening.
Shopping was the order of the night as excited VIP’s went home happy with bags of the latest H&M summer fashions and pieces from the exclusive H&M x Balmaination Collection.
H&M will open in Sandton City Saturday 7 November 2015 at 11:00.
