2016 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Report

19/09/2016

Finally the start of awards season! Something that doesn’t revolve around feeding, nappies and baby speak for me. Oh how I have missed judging the red carpet fashion…

The Emmy Awards kicks off the awards season where I am front and centre to see what trends the stars step out in on the red carpet. Some looks have me thinking, “What the AF?!” as I channel my inner Joan Rivers.  Before I see how the Fashion Police judge the red carpet for myself.

Let clean my eyes of some rather questionable choices on the red carpet. These stylists need to fired… I actually wonder how badly can you be at dressing yourself that you enlist people with such terrible taste to help you.

Amy Poehler

Amy Poehler in a beaded Pamella Roland

Surely  Amy wasn’t thinking straight when she was shown this gown. It ages beyond her years! She may not be feeling the greatest since her divorced was finalised in July but this is no way to go about it. Read revenge body, Amy!  Anything, actually… Something that will make you feel good about yourself and not looking like Kermit the Frog’s dowdy mother!

Maisie Williams

rs_634x1024-160918170636-634-emmy-awards-arrivals-maisie-williams
Maisie dressed in Markus Lupfer.

She may be fierce as Arya Stark in Game of Thrones but her red carpet game is not on par! From her hair to her oversized teabag of a handbag, it’s a terrible look! Sorry, Maisie!

Giuliana Rancic

Giuliana dressed in Georges Chakra Couture.

What happened G? Normally I love what she wears but this creation falls flat. Meh! The cape does absolutely nothing for the dress. What were you thinking?

Anna Chlumsky

rs_634x1024-160918163802-634-anna-chlumsky-emmy-awards-2016

The My Girl child actress now Veep actress looks ridiculous! Who sewed this duvet cover? A 5 year old child experimenting with her mother’s sewing  machine?  Why would anyone let this lady walk out the door wearing this…. Now that’s just cruel.

Heidi Klum

rs_634x1024-160918160733-634-heidi-klum-emmy-awards-2016
Heidi in Michael Kors.

The past few red carpet appearances has been a little disastrous for the model. Despite wearing her favourite designer, Michael Kors; Heidi’s choice of style is a far cry from the best dressed list. It looks as if Heidi couldn’t settle on one trend and had Kors create a mash-up dress.

Thankfully all bad things eventually come to an end.

Tracee Ellis Ross

The Black-ish actress dressed in Ralph Lauren

Tracee looked gorgeous in this grecian inspired gown. I think her best accessories for her look was her gorgeous glow and smile! Perfect example of a lady wearing a dress!

Kristen Bell

The actress dressed in Zuhair Murad.

Let first state for the record that normally I’m not a fan of floral print. It’s not my style. However since laying my eyes on this Zuhair Murad masterpiece, I’m actually in love with it. From Kirsten’s hair to her posture, she absolutely owns this look.

Kerry Washington

Kerry dressed in Brandon Maxwell.

Damn Kerry! You slayed the red carpet and showed off your best accessory, your baby bump. A true gladiator rocking this simple yet elegant look. Who said pregnant women can’t rock cutouts! Love it!

Ariel Winter

The Modern Family star dressed in Yousef Al-Jasmi

I cannot believe how much Ariel has grown! The Modern Family star is now 18 years old and is embracing her curves.  This dress is gorgeous and a far cry from what Alex Dunphy would wear. Something I’d love to wear myself…

Emilia Clarke

Emilia in Atelier Versace.

The mother of dragons kept it simple and classy in this flesh toned creation, but when she moved the dress created a mesmerising sparkle. Love the neckline and the silhouette of this dress.

Who do you think was the worst or best dressed on the Emmy red carpet?  For worst dressed, my vote goes to Anna Chlumsky and best dressed goes to Kerry Washington!

Now I’m off to see what E! Fashion Police has to report about the Emmys.

About Me:

Hi I'm Nikita.

Welcome to my corner of the online sphere. A place where we can be honest about mothering while trying to juggle life as working moms. As mothers, we worry about losing our identity, so let's find out together. With eight years of experience as a wordsmith, I'm never at a loss of words but maybe that's my Portuguese heritage coming through.

So proud to be named one of Twinkl's Best Family Bloggers for 2023

My heart swelled at the sight of Adriana’s joy. My heart swelled at the sight of Adriana’s joy.

She feels seen as a girl with T1D.

With her CGM, and insulin pump.

It’s one of the things that we work hard to instil in her, that she is “seen”, loved and that she should never feel embarrassed of her illness.

It’s her superpower to educate others and advocate for T1D.

Tag fellow T1D warriors 💙
