Awards season brings out my scrutinising eye whilst thinking WTF or “I’m in love” over and over again. Besides the gents looking dapper in suits, I can’t steer away from the ladies who step out in front of the mobs of paparazzi to showcase their look for the evening.
I won’t be a spoilsport here and mention any award winners. I’m not cruel like that. Instead I present the five best dressed ladies on my radar this morning.
I thought the ladies would step it up in the style department, to bring us daring couture pieces for the biggest night in Hollywood. It’s not to say it was lacking, but the some of the gowns were mediocre and actually quite simple especially in colour.
The colour palette that trended on the red carpet was a mix of champagne and off-nude. Being a lover of red, I can say that I’m loving the natural colour palette at the moment.
Giuliana Rancic
The E! presenter really did step up her A-game in this Paolo Sebastian creation. I think the gown led to a few actresses doing a double-take on the presenter’s dress. Well done Giuliana!
Emma Watson
I will probably forever remember Emma as Hermione Granger but she is definitely not a child. She is a sophisticated woman and hardly put a toe out of line on the red carpet. Despite keeping a low profile in this Vera Wang creation, she still caught my eye.
Jenna Dewan-Tatum
This is one hot mama in Reem Accra! Jenna showed off her post-baby bod in the illusion beaded bodice which balanced out her figure with the ruffled skirt. I for one, am loving the natural palette and the illusion style.
Sandra Bullock
Sandy has been burning the red carpet this award season and during her appearances while promoting Gravity. I’ve been hesitant with her appearance on the red carpet as she sometimes drops the ball. This year she stunned in the simple yet striking Alexander McQueen piece. Sometimes less is definitely more.
Kate Hudson
There are rumours that the actress is single but all the speculation was forgotten when Kate stepped onto the red carpet. My money is that Kate will be E! Fashion Police best dressed for the Oscars. This Atelier Versace gown is breath-taking. From the cape, to the detail and let’s not forget the daring cleavage. Miss Hudson definitely owned this dress.

I absolutely adored Giuliana’s look – that dress is to die for! Sandra Bullock always seems to get the glam look down to perfection, so she’s definitely at the top of my list too 🙂 gorgeous!!!
I agree with you Melissa, it’s beyond AMAZING! I think this dress might be duplicated soon for Matric dances and maybe even weddings.
