Over the past two weeks and a half I’ve been recuperating from a tonsillectomy. As much as ENT specialist warned me, I thought I would survive it and recover rather quickly as fit and healthy individual.
Boy was I wrong!
I cried like a baby that I couldn’t sleep because of the pain. I cried I couldn’t eat. The days blurred into each other as I recovered.
While I was dying on the couch, I thought I’d be rather productive as my watchful nurse named Peanut kept an eye on me.
I learned how to be productive in between the mountains of jelly I ate.
I thought I’d tackle the task of organising a wedding. I refer to myself as the reluctant bride as the thought of organising a wedding is sending me over the edge. There’s too much to do! But since my boyfriend of 8 years or so popped the question in December, I thought I’d start planning.
My iPad become my significant other
I cannot stress how important this tablet is in my life and more so during my sick leave. (I’m not referring to the mindless hours of Candy Crush but the hours spent surfing for ideas, inspiration and venues.
The good thing is I managed to find my wedding shoes, order it and they are now ready sitting in my cupboard. Thank you online shopping for keeping me semi-sane!
The Devil returns
Staring at the TV can become boring when that’s all you do for plus minus 17 consecutive days! Instead of my brain turning to complete mush, I finished reading The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger.
The book provided more insight and depth to the world of fashion than what Hollywood’s movie The Devil Wears Prada did (but is still a great movie), starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway I have to say having experience in the industry I agree with what the author wrote.
Now I’m busy reading the sequel Revenge Wears Prada. My lips are sealed but I really hope that fans will read it and find out what happened to Andy Sachs when she walked away from Miranda Priestly.
