Kim Kardashian got the birthday surprise of her life.

Her rapper boyfriend, Kanye West got down on one knee and proposed (with Kris Jenner’s approval).

The new sparkler on Kim’s finger is a flawless 15 carat diamond designed by Lorraine Schwartz.

There’s nothing subtle about the rapper. He popped the question in front of their friends and family who were together at a rented baseball stadium for Kim’s 33rd birthday.

Kanye serenaded his wife-to-be with a 50 piece orchestra who played Lana Del Rey’s Young and Beautiful which featured in The Great Gatsby (you can rent it on DStv’s BoxOffice).

Not to be outdone by the orchestra, Kanye performed his track Knock You Down with Keri Hilson and Ne-Yo. Topped off with a fireworks display.
