Disney Junior is growing strength to strength in the country. From the programming to the merchandise available in store, I feel that the brand is growing stronger every time there’s a media upfront.
Disney is really pushing boundaries to reach as many fans as possible. The Lion Guard is played is an isiZulu and Doc McStuffins in seSotho on the SABC channels. I think it’s a reflection of the brand trying to diversity which I believe is necessary in South Africa. I hope they continue to do this with more of their shows.
The next coming month will see new seasons of Mickey and the Roadster Racers; Doc McStuffins; The Lion Guard and Puppy Dog Pals.
Adding to this, new episodes of Vampirina will air. The purple little vampire has fast become a lovable character.
Despite the new upcoming episodes on Disney Junior, I’m excited about their latest addition, Muppet Babies! (Airs on channel 309 on DStv from Monday 3 September). As you read it, I’m sure you just heard the theme song!
It’s been 30 years since the release of The Muppet Babies. I remember watching it all those years ago, as my dad would tape it with the VHS machine. The whole gang is back with Kermit the Frog, the fabulous Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Animal, Fozzie and the new lovable character Summer Penguin.
The show is set on the toddler-aged muppets as they experience relatable lessons through their creative imaginations under the care of Miss Nanny.
After watching the first two episodes of Muppet Babies at the media launch , I’m certain that it will be a hit!
My advice to parents, get your hands already on the latest Disney Junior merchandise. Save it up for Christmas, you’ll thank me later. I do this for Adriana.
Visit all leading retailers and toy stores to get your hands on these and more.
