I was recently invited to the launch of the Goliath Comedy Club. It’s been on my radar since the Roast Café opened their doors late November 2015 at Melrose Arch.
Now with the next phase of the Roast Café in motion, the popular coffee shop transforms into a comedy club as the sun goes down.
The comedy club was abuzz with media, celebrities and fellow comedians coming out to support this new venture for Goliath and Goliath.
The comedy trio, Jason, Nicholas and Donovan headed by the driving force of Goliath and Goliath, Kate have created a comedy experience that is unique to others.
After all the formalities were done for the evening, Jason kicked off the night with rules of the stage.
Each comedian had a set time to perform their comedy skit, however should he/her go over the allocated time, the background lights of the stage would change colour. It gave an heightened experience, as I was engrossed in the each of the comedian’s skits and then panicked that I would miss the punch line while the lights flashed for the comedian to get off the stage. Being the professionals that the comedians all are, the laughs were saved and no punchlines were missed.
Besides raving about the high standard of comedy, I have to make a special mention about the delicious desserts served by Roast Café. The cakes and desserts were too enticing not to eat that friends and I kept asking the waiter when we could order dessert.
Eventually dessert was allowed and I had to try the Rainbow Cake while my husband sampled the Ferrero Rocher cake.
It was hands down the best cake we’ve ever tasted!
My verdict of the evening… It was a great night out with genuine laughs! I can only predict great things for the Goliath Comedy Club. With their growing popularity and impressive line-ups, it’s an experience that everyone must try over and over again!
As for the daytime, find any excuse to go to Roast Café and enjoy their divine desserts.
