We may be on school holidays but I forgot about the “entertaining part” of it.  With the weekend here again, we can enjoy time as a family and enjoy the last of the warm weather.

So spend the weekend enjoying time at some of these pretty cool places in and around Gauteng. This week’s Friday Favourites is to get you out of the house with these places to go to.

ITALIAN CLUB: SETTEBELLO

We headed to the Italian Club in Bedfordview for a birthday at the SetteBello.  The restaurant was amazing with authentic delicious pasta and pizzas. While we enjoyed ourselves, Adriana loved being outdoors playing on the jungle gyms and partaking in activities like sand-art,  ceramic painting and face painting.

HARTIES CABLEWAY

The view of Hartbeespoort from the top of the aerial cable car.

The Harties Aerial Cableway is a great option for a quick day trip. You can enjoy the view at the top of the cableway while enjoying a meal.  We loved their pizzas too (We’re big fans of pizza). . At the moment, the Harties Aerial Cableway is running an autumn special so check it out on their website.

MONTECASINO BIRD GARDENS

The Montecasino Bird Gardens is a good gem to enjoy the outdoors. Our favourite is feeding the lorikeets although my child wasn’t into it. Hence why I don’t have photos of it.

COUNTRY KITCHEN BENONI

Head to Country Kitchen in Benoni to enjoy the tastiest strawberries. My daughter and I love strawberries.  You receive a little bucket and scissors to select your own strawberries. At the end of your picking, your fruit is weighed. We also picked blueberries too.

irene farm

The Irene  Farm based in Centurion is a lovely trip out to experience the outdoors at the farm. If you haven’t been there before, you definitely must. Adriana was fawning over the calves at the “creche” area. They are the cutest.  As we walked around enjoying the scenic view,  she said, “Wow, what a beautiful view”. That it is. You can enjoy something to eat at their restaurants or book ahead with a picnic.

Happy Friday lovelies

P.S. Please tag us in your weekend outings, we’d love to see what you got up to.
