Caravela Portuguese Festival: Celebrate Madeira

Caravela Portuguese Festival logo

Like any other festival goer, I love me a good food festival. I’m not going to try veil this thinly but Portuguese festivals are the places to be. Everyone’s always up for a good time plus the food and entertainment is always on point.

As a fellow Madeiran myself, the first generation of my family to be born in South Africa, I’m excited that there’s finally a Madeiran Portuguese festival.

I promise you that there is much more to Madeira other than being the homeland of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Be part of the first ever Caravela Portuguese Festival, celebrating the magic of Madeira at Montecasino, Fourways from 30 June -2 July 2017.

You can expect non-stop, eat-till-you-pop, dance-till-you-drop food and entertainment for the entire family with SA’s top DJs including Paul Almeida, Vin Deysel and Mark Pilgrim, Portuguese culture and live music from the likes of The Parlotones, Prime Circle, Locnville, Jose Malhoa, Majozi and more.

Promoted by the Portuguese Forum of South Africa, The Caravela Portuguese Festival is a unique event in celebration of Madeira Day and aims to celebrate the rich and diverse history and culture of Portuguese speaking people from all walks of life.

  1. Hi Nikita,
Any chance you could email me the line up for the festival.
We would like to check if Jose Malhoa is there the whole weekend or only on a specific day?
    Thanks very much,
    Regards

    1. Hi Gina,

I haven’t received the official line-up. Once I do, it’ll be published here.
